Week: 8
Songs to Remember: Dancing King - Yu Jae Suk x EXO, The Eye - Infinite

A lot of competition, and I mean a lot. Freshmen have so much time on their hands ('cause they're freshmen) and so they got all the time in the world to learn all these dances.

I mean, they got tired of practicing the songs they were gonna audition for and instead just jammed out to other songs. And yes this competition does drive the competitiveness in me to do better, which is a good thing. So, whole day was pretty normal. Dance, we tested on our tap-dancing moves, which went pretty smoothly. Math was a nice group collaboration discussion, break was a nice break, Digital Art was just me making the tiniest adjustments to my finished Angry Birds design, and English was a nice session of reading Beowulf and trying to stay awake, with my head hitting the textbook only once.

Lunch was lunch, Gov was a nice lecture on politics, and Chinese was a nice session of, reading. And finally the moment I've been waiting all week for. After school were the KDT auditions for the 4 songs for Lunar Show, and most importantly, screen-time for Lunar Show. There's only 8 songs, and if you don't get into one of the first 4, you won't be able to get into one of the other 4. Let's say you don't get into EXO's "Monster." Well, then you can't do VIXX's "Chained Up," and so on.

I practiced, but I practiced casually, and not super "hyphy" sort of practice, like last year. That was because I spent about 2+ hours last night practicing. 2+ hours straight, by the way. Auditions took a while, I was there with Jk and Vh, the most prominent of the people whom I interacted with there. Jk was there just to hang about, he wasn't actually in the auditions. And man, you could see the amount of the people, the difference in numbers compared to last year. It was a lot. Fortunately we finished before 5:30 PM, which is actually good time since our deadline was like, around 5:00 PM.

Also, fortunately I only had to audition for 2 songs, which should've been great, but turned out to be a bit mediocre to be honest. I didn't lose pacing, I didn't forget any moves, I just, didn't exaggerate as much as I wanted, and I also didn't smile as much (or at all) as I wanted, heh. But overall I think I'm fine. Getting into these is what matters right now, because if I don't get in these, then I won't be able to get into BTS' "Fire," or, be able to do Sistar's "I Like That," which I consider freelo since it's just, nice screen-time and doesn't involve too many moves. But yeah, average work on my part. Since I was an assistant teacher I thought I wouldn't be judging, but apparently I would be.

And yeah, it was for "Monster." I'm like "Man, so this is what it feels like." Because we were on a time crunch we didn't have much time for introductions (like last year) or uh, time to really "judge." It was like "Okay, that's their name, write it down, watch, write down the stuff they gotta improve on or general notes, prepare to write the next person's name." Some people had the pacing down but forgot some of the moves, some people did know the moves but didn't get the pacing down, etc.

So it was nice to experience that. Overall, not bad. I seriously cannot wait to do some different songs because I ain't feeling these ones anymore. BTS' "Fire" is okay, VIXX's "Chained Up" is okay, EXO's "Monster" is okay, but nothing that really gets me to exaggerate the movements or make them slick and clean. I actually don't even know the schedule for next month. Tomorrow the KDT teachers (ones who are assisting or the main teachers for songs) will be meeting tomorrow at the local library to discuss and judge those who've auditioned, aaand, talk about transitions for our "Light to Dark" theme route.

What's gonna be kinda awkward is judging, like, ourselves or our peers, 'cause some are gonna be judging those who will be sitting right next to them, aka, me, heh. But yeah, banking on getting into ASTRO's "Hide and Seek" so I can do BTS' "Fire." Oh and did I mention that the meeting's gonna be from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM? Kinda early for my taste, which sucks 'cause last night was ass. Total ass. But anyways, it's only 9:39 PM and I'm kinda exhausted. Interacting with multiple people during that KDT session was pretty, exhausting, to say the least. Anyways, that's it for now. See ya.
