Week: 39
Songs to Remember: Gud Vibrations (B-Sides Remix) - Nghtmre & Slander, Queen - History
It wasn't me this time actually. Blogger servers were down, I tried logging on the site on multiple platforms and it wouldn't work. So, blame this shitty site for having to publishing up last night's post today, and unfinished.
Anyways, unlike yesterday, there was no test today. Only quizzes. In Psych we're apparently watching "What About Bob," a comedy from 1991 starring Bill Murray and like, take notes on it and shit. The movie ain't that great in my opinion, it's alright really.
What's not alright is a godamn pop quiz for chapters 1-6 of "Catcher in the Rye" for English. Normally I wouldn't give a shit, but, considering most (including me) have shit grades right now and only have around 15 schooldays left, knowing we'd have a quiz beforehand would've been nice. I checked my grades today and it looked the same as it was for the past couple weeks: a 69% in Bio and a 67% in English. What I didn't know was that the teacher put in our grades for the quiz already today. I looked to see what score I got and it was a 52%, I looked at my grade and it's still sitting the same. That's how shitty my grade his, heh, it's so bad that getting a 52% doesn't even faze my grade.
'Course, it was put in the assignments category which is only 25%, but still, I'm so close in being home-free that it's like, I gotta go super-hard to stay in. Anyhow, Bio was a bit nicer, err, more direct and considerate for us with shit grades. The teacher pulled up on the projector something called a "Post-AP Delight." It had the word "appetizers" under that and I was like "Oh, great. We get to have buffet time but I really would rather have something to satisfy my grade than satisfy my stomach right now."
Wish granted. It's actually an assignment. You can choose between answering questions about some articles (which are either unrelated to science, or, somewhat related to science. And articles like, actual articles), or watch some movies and compare how accurate they are to real Bio, or write a report on a book, or, turn in some college-app-answered questions. Each have a specific point value, all must add up to 40 points, max is 1 assignment per category.
So for "appetizers," those are the articles and are 10 points each. "Entrees" are either the book reporting or watching movies (which consist of really good shit like GATTACA and Osmosis fucking Jones), 30 points each. "Deserts" are those college-app stuff, this is mostly for the seniors who have filled out college apps already and could turn in answered questions from their apps for 5 points each.
And yeah. In total, it's 40 points, more than likely to give me a 1% boost. It's due by May 20th, so you know what that means. Yep, I'ma doing a movie marathon on Sunday, easily getting some 30 points, write about an article for 10, and I'm set. No more Bio for me, heh. And Anatomy, that's a different story.
Math, it wasjust a quiz but I took the time in 3rd period to study for it so hopefully it's all good. Lunch was lunch, History was just researching pros and cons of Trump and Clinton and their views. We've started this since yesterday, going on 'till tomorrow. I don't think we need all that time, for me anyways. At this point, nearing the end of class when we were putting our Chromebooks away, I took the time to... check the time, and, there was apparently some messages on the KDT group chat(s).
"Mt and Jb, you guys are now admins of the Facebook group page
Miah I will add you to the Facebook fan page admin
Drew you will take care of KDTS papers and cash! We will all meet up someday to tell you guys as much as we know :)"
In my mind, "Holy fuck, did I win?" On our group page on Facebook:
"The results are in. Here are the results. Please give your new cabinet members a lot of support and respect. There is no mere difference between the presidents, both will have the equal amount of power. Take good care of KDT
💖
Presidents: Jb & Mt (Honorary)
Vice President: Ln
Secretary: Drew
Congrats! Thanks to those who applied. It takes a lot of guts to step up and present yourself as a leader. Make me proud next year!!"

So I needed to express my joy at the moment, so I told Ec on Discord that I got it. It wasn't enough though, because I basically felt like Toby Maguire's Peter Parker in the original SpiderMan movie when he was testing out his powers for the first time and hopping across buildings shouting "WOOOOOOO." That was, that was me.
I got my goal, which was to beat who I needed to beat. I mean, I don't think that person would've been chosen as secretary due to how depressing her speech sounded (mine's sounded depressing too, all of ours sounded like that) sounded. And uh, I also achieved the goal of my speech which was to make it memorable, and I think it worked. What bothers me just a bit is that, Ln and I are like, noobs, compared to the KDT vets who have been here since their freshman year and sophomore year.
It's kinda weird for the spots of vets in cabinet to be taken by newbies who've just recently joined this year. That includes, like, Eh, a sophomore, Sm, a junior and current secretary, uhhh, and yeah. Sadly there's only 4 spots in cabinet, kinda sucks. The people seem to be fine though, like, Eh said "Good job everyone" to those who ran, and uh, Sm even congratulated me on getting secretary spot, for which she is currently secretary.
Now I got something to prove. I gotta prove that choosing me as secretary, even though it's a minute role compared to VP and president, it's still a spot in cabinet, like, official. So, I gotta make sure that the people in KDT don't regret voting me for secretary. I've already got a couple ideas in mind, one of which consists of spreadsheets. I always have my phone on me, so, to take advantage of that, I'm thinking of having 3 spreadhseets on Google drive, shared with the presidents, vice president, and teachers.
One spreadsheet will be for monitoring the roster. It'll contain current members, people who have participated, but left, etc. It'll also include performances they've done, songs they are doing, strikes, money owed, etc. Another will be for payments, just strictly payments, website names for custom shirts, payment proofs, receipts, etc. The 3rd one will be a full schedule, consisting of practice dates, people who've went performance dates, sign-ins for meetings, etc.
All sounds pretty neat and organized right? That's what I'm going for. And during like, performances or practices, a cabinet member might be like "Hey, did this person pay yet?" I check my phone, go to the sheet, look it up. "Did this person attend this practice?" "What time is our performance?" I'ma have it all. I mean, look what I'm fucking doing right now: I've since spent an hour on this post, making up for last night's outtage, and I do nothing at home anyways, heh, so. Instead of Isaac, I could fill out spreadsheets.
Anyways, back to the current events. Uhh, the president of KDT will be meeting with us tomorrow to talk to us about stuff, and uh, yeah. After school. For today, Chinese was whatever. Umm, after school was practice for "Hello Bitches" which is now included in the lineup of songs for the Key Club charity dinner, which is apparently hosted at our school's large gym. Sweet, convenient, heh. Also, formation changes, with Tu and Esh (co-president of KDT) joining us for the dance.
And uh, yeah. Lots and lots of expectations for the next series, this shit right here just brought it all up to a whole new level. And you know what's funny? I never expected to want to teach in KDT, nor did the thought ever occurred to me that I'd be part of the cabinet for the fucking club. Shit's crazy. It's 9:45 PM, see ya.
