Songs to Remember: Still - Lee Geon
All there is gonna be for this post is a movie review. the usual, and then updates. I wanna go to sleep like, soon because of the godamn SAT, of which I hope will be my last one.
I decided to watch "The Boy" today instead of taking my usual nap. The movie interested me ever since it came out, I didn't have the time to watch it in theaters, I also didn't want to watch it in shit poor quality because that removes the entire aspect of it. So, I waited 'till the Blu-ray release of it and well, I watched it (just not exactly on Blu-ray). Spoilers in the next couple paragraphs.
Alright, the beginning started out pretty, iffy. I liked how they introduced all the characters, it got into the story real quick, I liked that. Things started to go off when there were moments that were a bit too absurd, the usual horror movie idiot tropes which make me go "Seriously?" Towards the middle of the movie, the writers were trying to rationalize the actions of the protagonist, which I was like "Alright, alright, I like it." The mood changed and I liked the feel of it, up until her old boyfriend was put in.
He traveled all the way to her exact location from America. Nice one. He was just an obvious plot device, I fucking hated his character, it was going so good up until him. Luckily though, shit got real real quick and the biggest plot twist happened. Boom, out comes what I thought was Brahms' ghost. I was like "Awww shit, not again!" I thought it was Brahms' ghost materialized, like in another PG-13 horror movie, "Oujia." It wasn't until they showed the room he lived in that I was like "Oh shit, it's literally Brahms." Like, he's been living for 20 years. It then shifted from supernatural ghosty-ghosts to psycho-maniac killer. Did not expect it at all actually, heh. The ending was alright too, nothing too shocking, the plot twist was already shocking enough. Still, there were a lot, and a lot, of plot holes and unanswered questions.
Overall, it wasn't all that bad. It definitely wasn't what I expected, in terms of quality and content, but, I'd say I liked it. It was pretty weird to say the least, heh. I give it a 7/10, not exactly "hot damn" but more like "damn." Alright, moving on, I did not play Isaac today, fortunately. i did play some League with my buddies, and now I'm writing this while looking up SAT tips. I've since lowered my expectations into getting into UCSD, which unfortunately accepts people around a 4.3 GPA, of which I am not even remotely close to.
So, I've set my sights for UCSC, aka, UC Santa Cruz. It's not exactly UCSD, but, it's good enough for me, an above-average achiever, heh. It's 11:20 PM, see ya.
