Week: 19
Songs to Remember:
From my dream last night, I was biking to the library for some reason, when I discovered it's sorta broken down, even though it doesn't look like it. I receive a textbook by one of the people there, and since I had a study guide given to me from my English teacher to memorize over the break, I went along with my friend to study there.
There were no computers, and apparently there was a class going on. I also made like some sand land and participated in this bootleg game or something. After that I head on outside for my mom to walk me home (she did this when I was in like, elementary school). It was going fine 'till my mom was taking shortcuts through the neighborhood. There were kids playing in their garages and backyards and directly saw us walk through, right in front of their eyes, their property. It was pretty socially unacceptable so I headed a different direction, taking the long route.
It turned out to be longer than I expected, but I finally met up with my mom again and apparently some of my friends. We were walking through people's neighborhoods again but then people go suspicious and soe started following us and chasing us. They weren't regular people either, there were some in like Power Ranger costumes, some in Halloween costumes, just, pretty Halloween. Everybody was able to uh, get through and stuff besides me and my buddy. We did some bootleg parkour to survive, I could actually control where I was hopping and stuff. It ended when I woke up so, yeah. But anyways, enough about dreams, time for the real matters.
Our other cousin's coming at around 12:30 PM. It's 11:25 AM, we're gonna go watch The Force Awakens at the 3:50 PM screening in IMAX 3D, which is like, $15. After I watch it, I'll finally be free from this curse of no Reddit. I'll continue writing after I get back.
Ho-ly. Well. It was. It was a lot different than what I expected it to be. To be honest, I did not know the plot of the movie. I saw trailers, teasers, but did not actually know what's supposed to happen... besides the spoiler about Han. I'll describe my experience there first, in IMAX 3D.
First of all, they didn't have the special 3D glasses, only regular ones. Also, IMAX 3D is $15. Also, the screen was, not that big, but still big. For the general commercials, about 1/3 of it was cut off. Then when they were showing commercials especially for Force Awakens watchers, it went full screen. Also, we got there like, 30 minutes early, and had to wait at the door because they didn't allow anybody in yet. There was no distinct line, like, people were sitting down and about. We stood near the door, and as the time came close to the door opening, these big dudes, fucking neckbeards, were like "Hey, you guys know that we got here first right."
We didn't want any trouble, so we just went to the back of the line. Like, what fucking dicks. They weren't standing and looking like they were in line first, they didn't have anything that showed it. And only then, near the opening time, did they say that shit. Ho-ly, fuck. And this shit's just for seats too, and 5 days after the movie premier. I guess yeah, only these kind of people in IMAX 3D, but still. Anyways, that was before the movie. Now, during the movie, I already knew the major plot twist, so it wasn't that powerful. I was expecting more in terms of lightsabers fighting, but ehhhh. Next couple paragraph's gonna be full of spoilers so, yeah.
Okay, first of all, when Kylo Ren took off his mask, he instantly reminded me of Chase from Zoey 101. Just a fucking like, teen with anger issues. I mean, I was like "Okay I wish I didn't know what he looked like." The beginning of the movie was a nice setup. I really, really liked the setup for Finn and Po. Did not expect like, running and escaping from the First Order base. Introducing Han and Chewie, that was nice. When Kylo was fighting Finn, I expected it to be like, full on swinging. Nope, just a couple swings, more tactical running, etc. Over time in the movie, I was like "Yeaaahh, Finn ain't a Jedi is he." Trailer was fucking misleading.
The part where Kylo killed Han, I already knew it was coming so it didn't really have an effect on me. The part where Rei opened up the chest, what a fucking jumpscare. Like, it was fucking silent and suspenseful and then BAM, giant vortex of just loud ass shit. Fuck you. The ending was, I was expecting something with Luke, I mean, for most of the movie it didn't show Luke at all. I remember that Mark Hamill was going to be in the movie, so I knew he was gonna show up eventually. But Jesus, 30 seconds of him, standing there, all for a cliffhanger. Really? And R2D2. How does he not turn back on'till the very end? And of course, we can't forget Captain Phasma. Less screen time than Boba Fett. Really? Only showed up in the beginning, a few seconds during the First Order speech, and then turning off the shields at the end of movie, to be killed by getting thrown into the trash compactor. Fucking hype for a character that barely does shit. Even that one stormtrooper with the shock baton was cooler in my opinion.
Anyways, I give the movie a 9/10. It was definitely beyond my expectations, but shit, all the teasers and trailers were so misleading. And also a fucking cliffhanger, where we gotta wait 2 fucking years for. So, yeah.
Besides Star Wars, umm, the cast was out iceskating at Christmas in the Park, and uh, decided to take very many pictures and send them to the group chat. Also I've never been iceskating so that was fucking, egenralBut that's over now, and yes, I did immediately go to /r/4chan and Reddit in general. Feels so good. Alright, tomorrow's the big Christmas party, and shopping, so uh, yeah, see ya.
