Week: 16
Songs to Remember: The Pawprint (Continuous Mix) - The White Panda
Alright Drew, prepare for an hour of typing. Here lies this post to commemorate my 17th birthday, filled with cake, Facebook notifications, Fallout 4, and of course, the SAT.
So where to begin, let's continue off from yesterday in explaining some details. Uhhh, only thing I can remember right now is that the day after I messaged Vl on Twitter, she finally responded. She was like "Uhhh, can I have a name?" and I'm like "Andrew, I was in Ms.Blank's math class." She couldn't remember. "I was in Mr.Blank's class too." Still couldn't remember (I don't blame her though, 6th grade/ 5th grade for her was very short-lived). "Any details you can give me? Do you happen to have a picture?"
I sent her a picture of my current self, hoping she'd remember the similarities. She didn't respond for a bit until after I sent her my picture from 6th grade. "OOHHH I REMEMBER YOU! HOW ARE YOU HAHA." It was pretty much just that after, for about a couple other messages. "I totally forgot about you 'till my friend mentioned your name." "But what?" "Vh. I think she's in your Chinese class." "Oh yeah, she was in my group lol. But what did she say?" I got pretty bad vibes from that, so I was like "Oh she just listed people from her Chinese class when I asked her who was in it." "Ah I see." So, I don't think shit's going anywhere, it's a one-time thing now. She doesn't seem too interested in talking to me so, ehh, might as well not waste each other's time.
Oh, just remembered, KDT. Yeah, yesterday's practice was pretty bootleg for me. I was trying my best to mimic others' moves when we were practicing as a group. It was my first practice in a while so I was pretty rust. Also it was the BTS's "Danger" dance which I have not practiced at all. Still, I got a hang of just the general movements so it was okay. I did however get to be in the middle when they all did their hands-in-middle-cheer thing. People who get to be in the middle of it are the ones who improved the most, so, guess it was me, heh.
As for the SAT, that's a whole 'nother story. Last night I found a nice SAT study guide on Sparknotes and depended on that as my sole source. I got half-way through it all until I fell asleep (right here on my couch). I woke up, it was from 8:30 PM to 9:00 PM I think. I was like "Alright, that's enough studying, time for sleep." And I did, at 10:00 PM. My mom wakes me up at 6:30 AM, get ready, and knowning my dad has a watch and wears it, I ask him for it so I can wear it during the test. Because ya know, it's on list of things to bring on the SAT form thingy.
I wasn't sure whether or not the room I was gonna take it in was gonna have a clock or not, but better safe than sorry. My dad unfortunately, his watch is out of battery since he never changed it because he doesn't go to work anymore and is retired. We spend the next 20 minutes or so trying to find the right size button-cell battery or just looking for a place that's open that sells watches. We did manage to find a place, 7:20 AM, got 25 minutes to get to the place. We did fortunately, and Ag and Ek were right there at the front of the mob/line.
This was happening all the while I was receiving birthday notifications on Facebook from people like my buddy Ec, and messaged from Lt on where I was. I sorta forgot about Lt at the time, I was more concerned with the SAT than being with Lt in the cold. It was my fault though, I'm sure she had a horrible time being alone for the whole thing. My bad. Anyways, we stood in the cold for another 10 minutes or so until they let us in. Our testing room was the same, and on the 2nd floor, while Ag's was on the 1st floor,
The school was pretty uh, American-like. As in, like those high schools you see in movies with the hallway and lockers. Um, so we get to our room, show our ticket and ID, Ek is seated in front of me, I'm sitting in the back of her, people get in, I don't know anyone but Ek in there, the supervisor dude read out the instructions, I had my pencils, calculator, eraser, etc, we got our booklets and answer sheet, 3, 2, 1, boom, go time. I actually listened to DMX's "X Gon' Give It to Ya" to get my hyped up in the morning and not drowsy and sleepy.
First up was the essay. Prompt? Basically some uh, broad and vague question. Thank goodness I studied the essay bit on Sparknotes because it mentioned just that- the same sorta question with an example. 3 in fact, we got the intro paragraph listing the examples, the 3 examples, and the outro. I answered mine, now that i think about it, pretty shitt-ily. I mean I stated and answered the prompt directly in my first sentence, but my reasons and evidence, my evidence didn't really support what I was explaining. It's really uh, a bootleg mistake, I blame it on it being the essay, and it was the first thing in the whole trial.
And then next came the 10 trials of hell. As the test progress, there were times where I thought the test was going to end. And then I hear "Turn the page to section 5, turn the page to section 8..." I was like "THERE'S FUCKING 10 SECTIONS." Holy hell. I read up that it was going to be 4, as in, critical reading, math, and grammar. Guess they were divided into timed section-sections. Anyways, to make a long and stressful period short: math was somewhat not too difficult, just time-consuming, critical reading sucked ass because I once turned a page and it was literally a full page of just Richard Nixon talking about kitchen appliances. I'm like 'HOLY HELL." I can't believe I managed to answer most of the questions on that, because that story was fucking long.
Same goes for the other passages. They give us around 30 seconds to 1 minute per question, and shit, that's barely any time to read the whole thing when you've never seen it before. So, pretty sure that's a 50/50. And grammar, which I think I did the best on, because most of the answers were kinda obvious. And yes, there was a clock, but it was right above me, and looking up above me and looking back down at my test would've been too tedious and impractical. Umm, started at 8:30 AM, ended at 12:45 PM.
It was planned that the cast and I would go to Ag's house today, but she forgot she had church until 8:00 PM so that was a no no pretty much. Fortunately, that meant more time for me to get some levels on Fallout. I came home, changed, sat down, opened up my laptop, and see there was a letter. It was from my mom apparently, with her words "Happy birthday, my sweet son" and she drew a picture of me and her with a heart. Awww man, see, I do love my parents, and they love me, but showing affection and all this mushy-gushy stuff, it's so embarrassing, heh. But, it's okay. My mom knows I'm grateful for it, even if I didn't show it. There was $100 in the letter, which I could've cared less about, I actually payed more attention to the letter because my mom never really did anything like this before. A hand-written letter or something similar to that, I guess.
And so, I played Fallout pretty much the whole day after I got home. It was a reward for going through the shithole known as the SAT, heh. I also Skyped with my cousin, played a bit of League once again with my buddies late at night (like, about an hour and a half ago), as well as answering a ton of "Happy birthday" posts on my wall. Ah, Facebook. Best part about the wall posts was probably Yue saying happy birthday again, heh. That was pretty unexpected and cool. Ah, 100% Chance of Bad. Not a bad series.
It's currently 1:04 AM. I'm gonna be fucked over my work tomorrow, so there's that. But right now, I'll be on Fallout just a bit more. Uhh, so yeah. Not as long as I thought this post was gonna be, but I think it's because I didn't wanna go too much into detail on the SAT, because I don't wanna talka about it again for a loooong time, heh. Okie dokie, that's it for now, see ya.
What a nice letter
