Week 33
Songs to Remember: Trying to Be Cool - Phoenix
My dad was like "Son, I'm going to have to teach you about cars, little by little, like checking the oil, pumping gas," and my mom was like "Who do you think you are? Our son is only in the 9th grade, it won't be until 12th grade that he can drive himself."
Yeah, asian parents. I don't even have a phone yet and they're talking about cars. Oh, and my birthday is on December 5th if you didn't know. I'll be turning 16 then and I'll be getting my driver's permit I'm guessing. I'll also be eligible to apply for some small jobs like working at Target or something.
Working on a job is fine, applying for colleges is meh, but the scariest thing is driving a car. I don't know how people do it. I think that if I were to drive a car, I'd most likely crash into something. I mean, you're controlling a 4,000 pound vehicle going at speeds of over 30 miles per hour. One false move, like not turning the steering wheel fast enough to make a turn, can lead to like bad things.
And railings, don't get me started on freeways. People on highways and freeways driving at such high speeds with a bunch of other vehicles traveling at those speeds right next to you, I don't see how you cannot bump into them. And then there's concentration; you got to focus on the road, the brakes, the gas pedal, your speed, stoplights, stop-signs, cars around you, which lane to be on, and even your gps.
I don't know, maybe I'm just over-thinking. For some people, driving is like a 6th sense. I'll see if it's that scary once I'm able to obtain my license. Oh, and gas, paying for gas. Yeah that's going to be a pain in the-
Well I hope you enjoyed, I got to work on a crossword puzzle and math questions for which I have yet to start/finish. See you tomorrow.
