Week: 3
Songs to Remember: Stressed Out - twenty one pilots, Monster (LDN Noise Creeper Remix) - EXO

When I think of a picnic, I think about the "picnic" part. You know, just sitting there at a table or a blanket draped over the ground, eating food, hanging out with people you know. I didn't expect picnics to include hiking.

This is one of the most tired-est times I've felt since Fanime, and that was pretty tiring. But today, probably tops that, and this was just one day. First off, I had to wake up at 6:30 AM. Not good. Got to school at around 7:20 AM, in which, the cast has yet to arrive until around 7:30 AM. The cast and I (Jk, Ag, DrewN, Ek, and Lw) met up and went down and sat next to each other at the football bleachers after getting checked in

The senior panoramic picture was pretty slow, took around 20 minutes to complete it because there were people who were late, the photographer was moving people in, backpacks, etc. After that, those who weren't going to the senior picnic had to go to class, the rest, we waited for our buses to arrive. I was in the "white" bus (there were other "colored" buses, like blue, red, etc, just to identify them, not because they were actually colored like that), which is for people with last names "Su to Tu."

What sucked was that, everybody else really relevant were either on different buses, or just weren't going to the picnic. I did, however, got to catch up with an old buddy of mine, one I knew from 7th grade. He was a good friend in our social circle ("our" meaning, Ec, Mc, the old, prehistoric cast which is now the Discord chat), I even invited him to my student-of-the-month meal-time where he had his first taco. Man, was that something, heh.

From 8th grade afterwards he hung out with other people, and, was just busy with himself and his other buddies. And I don't blame him either. But yeah, it was nice catching up with him, he's still the same as I knew him in 7th grade, except, he just has more connections now. Anyways, we were the last bus to leave, during the ride I did not have a bus buddy so I just listened to music for the whole 15+ minutes. It's actually pretty hard to sleep on the ride there due to how noisy it was, people were playing music, some windows were open, etc.

When we arrived to the campgrounds (it was like a park, picnic area, recreational area, swimming pool, forest, hiking trail), I noticed it was just like when I went to science camp in 6th grade. It was just like it. Big tall trees surrounding the area, you felt like you were engulfed in nature, but the recreational areas and stuff felt like a nice civilization bubble, I don't know. It felt pretty nice, considering I haven't been to a forest-y area in a long time.

I met back up with Jk, Ek, and Lw. While Ek and Lw went to the restroom, I met up with a couple Jk's friends, whom he met like, a week ago, heh. They joined us on the adventure for a good, 65, 70%. After Ek and Lw got back, we went ahead and just, started off onto the first hiking trail. On the way there, walking through the campgrounds, it was really different from the Google Images that I saw. I was expecting like, a grassy field, sorta like a golf course, with picnic tables on the side, surrounded by tall pine trees.

At least I got the tree part and picnic tables right. And the swimming pool too. That thing was pretty small, and with the amount of people, also very crowded. There was a small place for people to play basketball, a volleyball net, plenty of tables, separate soda machines (free soda by the way, considering we paid $25. Also, I'm still pissed about how the office admin confiscated my water. I mean really? You could've tasted it, I could've tasted it. Just because it wasn't "sealed"), food, water (how was I supposed to know it was provided for free? It did not say anywhere in any emails), and, hiking trails. And trees. Lots of tall trees, which made for really nice aesthetic shots (I got a lot of those).

So this was like, my first experience with hiking. Like at-my-own-pace sorta hiking. I've been to Yosemite with my parents on a bootleg bus trip (and we all know how well that went), but I don't count that as a real hiking trip, because we didn't really "hike," per se. As for science camp, that was not at my own pace, and it was science camp, which was totally different. This time, I was only with the cast, no coordinator or supervisor, we're old enough to know what's dangerous or not, we could go at our own pace, etc.

And boy, was it fucking nice. I never understood hiking as a hobby. You would think that it'd be just walking on a trail, and that was what I thought too. Just walking on a dirt path, trees around you, that's it. In actuality (in this case at least), there was more than just a "dirt path." We had to traverse over small rocks to 2 trails on each side of a small creek, and, there were tree trunks blocking paths, going over, under, over and under rocks, slipping and sliding on unstable ground, rocks, wood. It's like a new experience every time. Reminds me of randomly-generated terrain, like in Minecraft, heh.

And I could see why people like hiking, both in general and as a hobby. It's a different experience every time, it's an actual challenge to traverse the unknown land, and, you could set goals like "Hiked here, check it off my list. Havne't hiked here yet, one more to go, etc." In the midst of our hiking, I did a lot of Snapchat videos (25+ to be exact) in which I discovered that I can actually, for once, do a "Man vs. Wild"-type documentary, heh. Was pretty fun for about 20+ minutes, 'till I was getting low on battery.

We took a lot of pictures, with me taking some aesthetic shots on the nature to be used at some backgrounds, and, had Jk and the rest take a pictue of me in some aesthetic poses. We hiked the first trail for a good, 30+ minutes, maybe 45+ minutes, until we got tired/ almost reached the dead end for the trail and headed back to get food. This was where I discovered that food was free, and, water and soda was free too.

Sat down at a table, just relaxed for a good 20+ minutes, eating, relaxing. There was no reception there by the way, so luckily Snapchat saves the stories until you get a connection to post 'em. Also there was a barbecue to. As I was saying, we stayed at a table for a bit, it was about 11:00 AM by that time, and, after that, we went ahead and hiked on the 2nd trail. This was where I knew that I had picked the wrong clothes to go hiking with (I didn't know there were hiking trails until we got on the bus, okay? Didn't state anywhere in the emails, and, the Google Images showed that vision I had of just a grassy field).

Several times, my black pants were covered in moss or debris. My black long-sleeved shirt was soaked in sweat, so I had to take that off and put it in my backpack (in which I regret bringing). My short-sleeved shirt under my long one was also soaked, heh. Not only my shirts, but my shoes too. Several times I had slipped my foot into the creek or body of water, and, got my whole shoe wet. Socks too. By the end of it, both my shoes and socks were soaked. I eventually took off my socks and just went bare-footed in my shoes because it was at the very least, less discomfortable (discomfortable?).

Also it was very weird how, almost every person you see, you kinda or do know them/ who they are. 'Course, it is the senior class and you have either been in the same class as them or seen them around school or social media, but still. Anyways, after a long trek on this trail, we headed back. Ek and Lw went elsewhere, we lost track of Jk's buddies, and it was just him and me sitting at a picnic table, one of his shoes was wet, while both of mine were. Along with the music playing, it felt as if it were the last day of school. It could even be a moving ending, in which Jk and I do a nice hand-grasp and then freeze-frame it then have the credits roll in, just like the ending to "The Breakfast Club," heh.

Everybody (and I mean everybody) got in for a group picture, then it was time to get back on the buses and head back. With my tired soul and body, and the nice warm breezes throughout the bus from the windows, and the whitenoise that is noise, and the bumpy ride on a school-bus, it was sorta easy to fall asleep. But I didn't. Once we got back it was only 2:15 PM. Jk suggested him and I head over to DrewN's house (apparently he got out early). I had to decline 'cause I got dance practice right at 3:00 PM, plus I needed to go home and change my shoes because I could not stand the wetness any longer.

So I got home, took a break for 10 minutes, headed back to school with my tired ass, only to see that the CLOG rush "practice" for KDT was literally just, dancing to the mix that I had made (in which the one played was not even the final version, just saying). It was nice to catch up with the other members (not everybody was there, but, most), but it did feel empty without the old seniors. Anyways, stayed there for about 2 hours, went home, and just, stayed home, heh.

Not gonna lie, I was glad that I did go.This finale wouldn't have been- oh my goodness. You see how like, it's only the 3rd season in, and this was the season 3 finale? Just swept the rest of the other series finales out of the water. Or at least, this one was super-different. And, it actually reflected upon how, I am growing, shwocasing how free I felt, doing whatever, acting like a retard by doing those bootleg Snapchat documentaries, heh. Just like with the creek, I just went with the flow. It's 11:19 PM, see ya.
