Week: 8
Songs to Remember: Mansae - Seventeen, Danger - Taemin
I think that the amount of work I've had this week was to compensate for all the crazy plot advances so far. Eh, that's a fair trade off that I took.
I'm also going to get bombarded with even MORE work next week, so if I thought this was a lot, there's going to be even more. As long as the plot advances in the meantime, I won't mind. So without further ado, let's start it off with Psychology.
Fuck Psychology, heh. To think the group projects and activities would stop, nah, nah, they don't stop. We gotta do a bootleg skit on Monday concerning a random topic 'bout genes. It's in a group, so, basically the same people as always. It's funny because today I just got done with a skit for US History, and now, this.
And now for the good part. Parts. I'm walking out the door, 1st period to 2nd period, I see Lt walking ahead of me, I go up and do a convo (I don't know why I called this a walk convo, now that I think of it, why not just a convo?), the one we have sometimes when going from 1st to 2nd. Nothing much, just the usual. English, nothing much again, just this time we have our vocabulary test, in which I studied the words just last night.
After we were done, the teacher was like "Alright, we'll be starting our short chapter reading comprehension quiz. I'm just like "ANOTHER one?". Yes, just like what DJ Khaled would say, "Another one". Thank goodness it was just on plot. Mostly. The teacher showed us our results (anonymously of course, our names were covered) and pretty much everybody did well. I did well, surprisingly, knowing that I guess to the best of my ability on a couple of 'em, heh.
We then did a short play for chapter 14 of the Scarlet Letter, yadda yadda. The bell rings, we start putting away our Chromebooks (in which we used to take the quizzes online), I put mine away, I turn around, my desk, like I said, is literally like 2 feet away from Lt's, she hands me her Chromebook, asks me to put it away for her, I'm like "Yeah sure whatever", she heads out, I head out soon after, she's waiting for me.
I walk up next her, she's like "Oh there you are", like she always does apparently whenever I appear next to her. She begins talking 'bout, uhhh, work again, I guess. I forgot to be honest, heh, but I did not forget what happened next. We talk 'bout some shit, I forgot, and then she just mentions "Oh yeah, I should give you my number for [undiscernable noise]".
And I thought, I, would be the one to bring up phone numbers, heh. I'm like "Oh that reminds me, I needed yours for this survey thing in Chinese" and then, some more undiscernable noise, she talks a bit too quiet sometimes. She's like "You're taking Chinese?" and she mentions how she might be taking Chinese 3 next year and that hey, we might be in the same class, I'm kinda ehhhh, about it 'cause it's a different teacher doing it. So umm, we just stop, that one dude's on his phone next to her, doesn't matter to me at this point, in my mind I'm like "Uhhhh, so what's happening? Oh right" and so I pull out my phone, she gives me her number, I'm like "Alright, I'll be sure to message you if I need help".
And we head on our own routes on a positive note, and in my mind I'm just like "D- did I just, did I just get reversed sweeped?". I fucking did. Ho, ly, shit. I think we're getting somewhere. Just where, that remains a mystery, but shit's hinting towards a positive place, I mean there were A LOT of hints today. Ratings were through the roof, what a fucking amazing peak for the season finale. And yes, I'll consider this the season's finale. The rest, whatever happens after and before the next season, will be the after-finale.
So. Biology. It will be the source of my lack of sleep next week, or maybe this weekend. The teacher was like "Sorry, I know this week's been a lot of work, but next week's gonna be more". Like, yeah. Definitely. Especially since I've got even more projects going on now. In class we got time to work on a bootleg Meiosis stop-motion video. We could use like, pipecleaners to create chromosomes, move 'em around, whiteboards, etc.
Normally I'd be thrilled, because stop-motion is fucking awesome, I know a lot about it, watched many films that used it, and I've created my own when I was young, including using Lego and clay. The videos are long gone, but I still remember 'em. Now, the problem is not me, not the amount of pictures I gotta take, but my partner. The girl who sits next to me is like "You wanna be partners?" How could I say no? I wasn't planning to anyways, but. I asked her if she knew about stop motion and she was like "Nope".
So, there ya go, heh. I was thinking like "Okay, we ain't gonna get shit done if it's together". I'm just gonna do it at home, or something, by myself, she can backpack if she wants, but if since this needs to get done, I'ma do whatever it takes to get it done. Same goes for US History at one point for our piss-poor skit, heh.
Oh yeah. After Biology, I head out the door, down the stairs, bam, there's Lt. I'm like "Hey" and she's like "Hey, you didn't text me yet". In my mind I was like "Shiiiiiiiiiiiiit". I didn't her to expect a text that quick. Like, come on man. Also my phone battery was pretty low. I forgot to charge it last night, I leave it on playing music, in the morning I was like "Shit" and barely got anything before I left for school. I was phone-less for half the day.
Up next was math. Just the usual, again, nothing much. Lunch, was nothing much again. Same old, new same. US History. I quickly read up a summary of the Spanish-American war, pray to the improvisional gods to give me their strength, think about all the work that I've attempted/successful improvised and bullshitted before that lead me up to this moment. I had on a bootleg mustache taped onto my face from black construction paper.
Thank goodness that the teacher let us prep outside, since we were to go up and present first. Turns out we weren't the first ones today, but nobody knew that, hell, our group thought we were going up first today. Apparently not. So, we get outside, we establish a plan, these 2 group members are arguing whether to do it live or just talk over the 1-minute video we have. We decided on talking over the video, but we recorded some more scenes like right outside the classroom.
This was during SSR by the way, thank goodness for that. This was the hardest improv I've ever done, hopefully will ever do, because this was as close as it got. We're recording scenes for our 1-minute skit video, in which we will be talking over it with the most bullshit, half-assed scripts ever made. Also the arguing at first was really loud. I forgot that we were right outside the door, and when we came in, the TA was like "You guys were loud". Shit, heh. That means the class probably heard a lot of muffled arguing.
We found out that one other group was going before us, so we were like "Oh". But after them, it was our turn, thank the lord for on-the-go video editing, because our group member edited the original footage and included the new clips, all on her phone. I heard this one dude say "I have a feeling theirs is going to be good". Oh boy, was he wrong, heh. It started off really well, our group member, the one who was kinda leading us to victory, she had a well-written script, had satire and jokes and casual talk in hers, the class enjoyed it, the teacher seemed like he liked it. We played the video, paused it a few times, etc.
Me? I barely talked. In total, it was about 10 seconds of me talking. A full 10 seconds. Over some bootleg skit footage. Everyone talked a bit, mostly our group "leader" was the one who made it all seem together, I gotta give her that, I'd say she carried us through the abyss, of what could've been, a really, really, messy (well, messier), horrible, improv skit action.
We watched a video on presidents for the rest of the period. Chinese, we just did some random activities, we voted on people's poster designs from yesterday, throughout all periods. Our team's poster probably had the most, not even gonna lie, there were a lot of sticky-notes on it. And uh, lots of online work this weekend for Chinese, but what can ya do.
Afterschool, KDT practice. Workshop actually. Our adviser was sick today so we had our dancing outside at the L-building circle. We were doing Taemin's "Danger", nice song. I think I heard it back in 100% Chance of Bad. We also had a dude from a college dance team teach us so that was pretty cool. It looked complicated at first, like, first impressions, but actually doing it, not that hard to get the hang of. And the BPM, not too fast either. I think this is my favorite dance so far, out of all the others.
Also this one dude, I know him but not personally, but he was like "Hey, what's your name?" I'm like "Drew" and he's like "I'm *insert name here*, nice to meet you". He's like "Ms.Blank told us about you" and I'm like "Oh really?", he's like "Yeah, she basically compared your group's performance to everyone else's. She said you were this kid who never talks and just went up and spit fire" and I'm like "Heh, thanks". He's talking about the bootleg Psychology rap thing by the way, for context.
Auditions for performing in the Lunar show (kinda the biggest dance event for the school) which is in January 2016. We can audition to do any dance we want, out of the ones we already learned. I'm kinda ehhhh, but like, ehhhhhh. If I were to audition, I'd do Taemin's "Danger". Just 'cause it flowed well for me today. Next, next week is also review day, where we review our dances we've done so far.
So, what a fucking season. So much shit has been going on, I haven't even gotten much sleep lately, just, yeah. Oh and the Star Wars Battlefront beta. Played about 30 minutes of it today with my cousin. Yeah, I think I'll stick with Black Ops 3 this time around. I don't like the flow of the game, it makes you experience getting raped by higher ranked players for way too long, and it's the same 2 maps over and over again. At least let us test out a couple others, but it's just Hoth, Sullust, Hoth, Sollust, over and over again. Even before jumping into the Hoth map, it said that I should rank up first and unlock stuff before doing Walker Assault. Seriously?
Anyways, I'm tired, still gotta work on shit 'till I'm dead from exhaustion. See ya. Oh and I texted Lt once I got my phone charged up. I was like "Hello, is this the real Lt?". I got a reply saying "Who is this? And who is Lt?". I see what you're playing, so I was like "Welp, looks like it's the wrong number k bye. Just kidding". She was like "Sorry Drew, just wanted to prank ya. Lol. It's me, Lt". I know, I know. Anyways, see ya.
