Week: 13
Songs to Remember: A Year Like a Day (하루 같은 일년) - 2LSON
Week 13 when it's Friday the 13th? Coincidence? I think not. Despite today being considered unlucky, I think this finale turned out to be very fortunate for me.
First it's Psychology, where we corrected each other's test FRQ's, then had the rest of the period to do whatever. For the record, our teacher wasn't here today so we had a sub. Had she been here, it would've been another fucking "Fun Friday."
English was one of the highlights of the day. Peaked a high amount of views. We were discussing examples of mass hysteria and uh, the teacher looked up some cases online. There was this article, was something like "10 Bizarre Cases of Mass Hysteria" or some shit like that. He scrolled down, going through each, then there was one called the "Penis Panic."
It was a case of mass hysteria when people started thinking their D's were shrinking and blaming others for taking theirs. Pretty hilarious right? The teacher was like "Hey,even though it seems funny, imagine being on the receiving end of that. You're living your normal life and somebody just comes along and takes your penis." He probably said "penis" about 5 times or so.
After that fiesta, we continued watching "The Crucible" which is turning out to be a really good movie. There's a nice character development going on, intense moments, pretty cool. And as usual, Lt and I had our walk convo, but I'm guessing she's taking it to over to the L building instead. We sit down at the middle on the first floor and just talk 'till her friends come on over.
Biology was a real surprise. We had our test, I looked up so many examples online of the same experiment we did in class, studied that shit, looked up Quizlet flashcards for that shit, if I had not study the experiment and steps, I would've gotten shit on on the test. It was surprisingly easy, only because I knew everything, for the most part. And for the first time, I didn't have much of a problem on a free-response question.
Math. It was actually the same old, same old, nothing really special here. Lunch, now that was nice relaxing. There was a scheduled intruder drill today, my Biology teacher said it was happening at the end of lunchtime. I'm sure other teachers told their students as well, because there was a lot of "groups" standing near the doors of classrooms, including the cast and I. I wanted to go to my US History teacher's room, because he always gets out a bat during these kind of drills. But no, we went to this one other classroom instead.
US History has got to be the highest peak so far this week. I think. When did I start going with Lt to the L-building? This week right? Well, besides that then. Anyways, SSR's over, class starts, the teacher gets out the bouncy balls and I'm like "Oh no." The first appearance of this game dates back to "So Don't Be on with Her" where the teacher dude makes a deal with us. We, as a class, can choose to accept his offer or not. It's usually an assignment, like, for example, today, we had to draw 5 pictures of terms from WW1, giving a little context for each, would probably take a couple hours to do in total.
If one of us can make a shot into the basketball hoop in the back of the room, from a preset spot of course, then he bumps the number down, so instead of 5 pictures, we only have to draw 4. He usually tries to offer us more propositions after we make it or miss the shot (out of 3). Well, many people, said no to it at first. He did a vote count of all of us, I'm actually voting for someone to do it because I'm all or nothing really, heh, and it was 12 to 11.
So, this athletic dude is the one shooting. He was in my Geography class in freshman year too, so he knows. He misses all 3 shots, hitting the ceiling each time. Well, we only have to do 6 pictures now, not that much, so the teacher gives us another offer. Down to 3 pictures, or up to 8 pictures. Sounds pretty good right? Well, this time this one girl goes to shoot, and well, she makes it the first try. WOOO. Freelo baby. The teacher was like "Alright, alight, how 'bout this." And he offers us a free assignment (meaning we don't have to do it, it's a free 30 points) and we get to play a bootleg game for the rest of the period, or, go back to 6.
People liked the idea, they were hesitant at first, so, we ended up going for it, and uh, WOOOOOO. FREELO. She makes it, we don't have to do the assignment, free 30 points to my grade, we move all the desks to the side of the room, sit in a big circle in the middle of the room, the teacher explains this "Signs" game to us. We basically all come up with a sign, so it could be a peace sign, praying sign (that was mine), wink, something like that. Then, one person is to be in the middle. That person has to guess who has the "invisible ball." This "invisible ball" is passed around by people sending their signs to each other, usually when the person in the middle's back is turned.
For example, I start out. I make eye contact with a person, make sure they know I'm looking at them, then do their sign. They gotta confirm it by doing their sign, then make eye contact with someone else, do that person's sign, then that person does it and so forth, essentially passing this "invisible ball" around. If the person in the middle gets caught, they switch with the middle person. It was pretty fun actually, such a good stress reliever, heh. I really needed it after this week.
And last, but probably not least, is Chinese. We didn't do anything related to Chinese today, we made snowflakes instead. 3-D paper snowflakes, following a YouTube tutorial. It's actually not as hard as it looks, heh. Each team made one, we hung it on the ceiling, I'm like "It ain't even half past November yet and Christmas is already looked forward to." I am though, guilty of that, heh.
Anyways, I don't have much work besides studying and this bootleg essay due tomorrow night for Chinese. 800 words, just gotta sound persuasive, back up facts, easy 200 points. I think. So, I was hoping to sleep at 11:00 PM today, to rpay up some of my sleep debt, but, looks like it ain't happening tonight, as it's 12:55 AM right now. Alright, see ya.
