Last night I didn't really study, I wasn't in the mood for it, you know why. I tried studying for a bit, but then it was about 10:30 PM and I just wanted my sleep. I was "Oh my goodness, this is gonna take forever". So, I tried to just get a good night's sleep.
Woke up, didn't really know what to expect today. Came to school, bell rang, I'm like "Hmmm, should I take off my lock from my locker now? Do I have the time?". Then I was like "Nahh" and just went to 5th period. The seating was the same as for any test in the class- random seating according to when we enter through the door. I ended up finding myself sitting behind Cm and right next to (to the left of) Zi, just like on that one test day where she asked me if I wanted to be friends, heh.
I really, really didn't know what to expect for the test. I was just like "Ah f*** it" on the final. The first part consisted of 30 multiple choice questions, no calculators, and that was probably the hardest part of the whole thing. We started at 8:00 AM. I'm on the 5th question and I look at the clock and it's almost 9:30 PM. I'm like "Ah s***, speed up, SPEED UP". So I did. I was on about question 25 when I realized not one person has turned in their first part of the test yet, even when it was 9:00 AM (we had 2 hours so 10:00 AM was the end time). Around this time, the teacher told everyone that we needed to hurry up or else we wouldn't have enough time to finish part 2.
What she didn't tell us was that part 2 was just 15 questions. I hurried to finish up the last 5 questions and got part 2 of the test, Had about 30 minutes left to do the 15 questions of part 2, with calculator allowed for this part of course. I made the most logical guesses I could do. After time was up, we turned in our tests and everybody was like "Yeahhh, that was pretty s****y". I agree. Oh well, at least I had about an 85% grade before this final, and if I get at least a C on this, my grade will probably be around 83% soooo still a B. I'm actually fine with that.
Ms.Tseng (or "The Tsenginator" as some call her) was a very, uh, challenging teacher for me. The beginning of the year, holy hell, I said Math was my most hated class. Then it was P.E. Then it went Math, and then a bit of English, a back and forth between P.E and Math. Anyways, the way she taught was waaaay different than what I had previously experience in other math classes that I've taken. It basically became a "Forget everything about what you previously know about math and learn it my way" kind of thing.
I remembered that it was too late to switch classes so I basically just set a bar for myself, that I would need to try A LOT harder than what I was doing. The Shia Labouf Motivation video would've actually came in handy, heh. I was getting C's, D's, a bit of F's here and there for the first few couple quizzes and tests. It wasn't until I got a good grade on a test that I was like "Hey, this 'work harder' thing is working out". I proceeded to get a C on the next test after that one, but hey, I didn't give up.
I got used to the work, tests, quizzes. Polynomials were my worst nightmare, heh. I was deciding if I wanted to do regular Pre-Calculus next year, 'cause I wasn't sure if I wanted to experience another one of these hell classes. But, Zi was doing Honors, my buddy was doing Honors Pre-cal, so I was like "Ehhhh, f*** it man, f*** it". I blame part of my decision on peer pressure, heh. It's just like how that one guy from my P.E swimming class phrases it: "Do it and you're cool! Do it and you're cool!".
Now that I'm done with the class, I actually wish to be in her class again for Pre-Cal. Why? Because I'm already used to how she teaches, she even said "With what I taught you so far, you should have no problem with Honors Pre-Cal". So, there's that. Ms.Tseng was/is a challenging teacher, but as long as you do it all her way, it sorta becomes easier. Sorta. Anyways, I learned a lot about Algebra II and Trigonometry (more than I would've liked) from her teaching so I'd like to thank her for that.
Off to break, and after that (nothing really happened during break time) off to 6th period Chinese class. Started off with me walking there and seeing Zi and Jc. We proceeded to give ourselves a group hug. That was really comforting, like "Damn, last day, really?". Came inside and began with the test. It was about 30 questions, 25 multiple choice, 5 were "re-arrange the phrases to make a sentence" questions. I, did not study.
As I began the test, I looked at the answer sheet compared to the test. I was like "What the f***, why is it all over the place". It seemed really weird, but everyone else was having no problem filling it out. So, I just went with it. Only until after I turned it in did I realize "Wait, was the title of the answer sheet Chinese 3?" (I'm in Chinese 1 by the way). After a bit, teacher calls my name, tells me that it was the wrong answer sheet, proceeded to ask me to transfer my answers over to a correct one.
Turns out it was the answer sheet for the final for the Chinese 3 class. All the tests and answer sheets were already passed out on our desks when we came in the classroom, so I just used the one that was already on my desk. Transferred the answers, turned it in, everybody was finished, and we went as a class to the G-building book room to turn in our textbooks. I was like "Ahh, just like the beginning of the series".
We came back to our classroom and the teacher let everyone see their scores. Highest in the class? 190/200 (Let me remind that there were only 30 questions, 25 of which were multiple choice. Each question was worth A LOT of points). Lowest in the class? 40/200. My score? 85/200, heh. Well, at least it wasn't the lowest. Ic actually got the lowest, which was the 40/200. I don't blame him, I didn't study either.
I almost forgot to describe my Chinese teacher. Ms.Kang was a real nice, uhh, helpful person when it comes to helping you learn Chinese. I'm not sure if she'll treat me the same next year for Chinese 2 because I'll actually have a bit of experience in Chinese by then. Also there's gonna be another Chinese teacher next year so I might not be able to be in her class (or with Zi, Jc, Cm, or Ic). Anyways, the activities were GENERALLY fun, I mean, it was different, some I liked, some I didn't. And uh, yeah, all in all, not a bad teacher.
I expected the class to go the same as last semester. I didn't take into account that we had 2 hours of free time last semester, but this time we had only about 30 minutes of free time. Since I chose to bring my cards today (in the hopes of using the time to practice Cardistry), Jc wanted to learn how to play the game "Speed", so, we played a couple games, and well, people gathered 'round and we started a big whole game of "BS". I don't even think we played the way we were supposed to play, just, our rendition of it.
Watching people handle your cards though with all the careless bends and stuff was kinda cringy I gotta admit. The bell rang, and whadya know, class, school, was over. I walked out with Zi and Jc and Zi was like "Byee" and "Give me a hug Drew". And Jc too. Yesterday I actually thought to myself "I just need a hug, man". Well, whadya know. It really did assure me that it wasn't all that bad. Not everything's 100%.
I walked around for a bit, hoping that I would come across Yue one last time. Not long after, I'm walking next to the E building and about 10 feet in front of me I see a girl who appears to be filming the school as she's walking, I'm guessing she was a senior. Her friend next to her, just happens to be Yue. It caught me off guard actually, I didn't expect to actually find her, heh. I was like "Yue!" and she was like "Hey!" and "Wanna take a picture?" She has friend take the picture and I get the long awaited picture with Yue. A few months ago she said we should take a picture before she graduates, and well, here it was.
She said "I'll send you the picture. Best of luck to you!" in her recognizable slight accent and I was like "Thanks! You too". And that was the last line uttered by Yue from the series. It was good, it was good. I wish the best of luck to her in college, what she's gonna major in, I don't even know. But damn they eyes, those big eyes.
I proceeded to head to the bookroom near the library to do one last thing- and that was to pay the fine of my lost textbook. And see if anyone had turned it in. Also I checked Schoolloop about a couple days ago and on my page, there's listed 5 lost textbooks, with blank descriptions. I'm like "Yeaahhh, I'ma have to talk to them about this one".
The line was f***ing HUGE. I had to call my mom to let her know "Yeah, I'ma call you back after 2 hours, I gotta wait in a line for my textbook". Also I saw a dude just casually dump his backpack into a trash can. Like, if you stay afterschool for a bit, you can look around and there's just a bunch of papers and filled trashcans. Like in High School Musical 2 where they throw a bunch of papers around. That actually kinda happens.
So I was like "F*** it" and stood in line. A girl in front of me was like "Hi" and I was like "Hi". She was like "What grade are you?" and I was like "I'm a sophomore". They were freshmen and I asked what classes they were gonna take next year. One of them said they were gonna take Honors Pre-Cal next year, so I was thinking like "Hey, maybe that's a hint at a new character in the upcoming series". Anyways, when I was finally got to the front of the line (at about 1:20 PM), I was like "Hi, uhh on schoolloop it said that I have 5 lost textbook fines and they're all blank and I don't recall losing 5 textbooks". The book person checked a bit and said that I was missing a Biology book and a Algebra II/Trig book.
I was like "Umm I shouldn't have a Biology book missing, I turned it in last year" (this was before I came home and my mom told me I still had a Biology book in my room, which surprised me but I realized it was my AP Biology book, not the regular one). So they fondled around a bit, I only had the Algebra II/Trig book to pay, I was like "Can I just pay it now?". And so just shoved my $80 into her face aaand that is how my lost book story ended.
Called my mom to pick me up, drove me to Burger King, got my CAHSEE score in the mail, almost the top 10% in the state, got rewarded with a burger. I was like "That was it. That was the whole series. Felt a lot, lot different from the last one". And it was. I had a lot of fluctuating feelings throughout the entire thing, s*** that I didn't want to feel, and s*** that I never thought I'd be able to feel.
I just wanna thank all my buddies who've stuck with me throughout, along with new ones I've met and made through the series. I'm talking 'bout Zi, Jc, Ic, Cm, Dn, Ec, Et, Ek, Br, Hd, the other Drews, Yue, Yn, and many others. Where would I be without you guys? Probably in the same spot but just lonelier, heh. So many events, experiences that I've been in for the first time, I gotta say, this series proved itself much more than I ever thought it would.
Also new music really helped a lot. I found, many many new songs from artists throughout the series, including, but not limited to: The Strokes, Flying Lotus, JJCC, Kid Cadaver, Disclosure, Flume, EXO, Julian Casablancas, The Knocks, The Kooks, BTOB, Cross Gene, GOT7, San E, Mystery Skulls, Infinite H, SHIMMIXES, Tanuki, Nu'est, and JYJ. Next week on Friday, I got some tutoring at the library, with my buddies this time, a lot of 'em, Also probably some driving tests, lots of sleep, trip to L.A, and maybe a trip to Hawaii.
It's been a great series, not sure if I said that enough times already. This post marks the 481st post I think? That's just 20 away from 500. 500. Now that's something I never would'a thought I would be close to reaching, ever since I started this whole thing. Lots of ups and downs to get this far, and I don't think there's any going back. It started off with Yue, originally in 3rd period, it ended with Yue leaving the series. But hey, there's still more to come right? There's still gonna be 2 more!
I got a hell of a lot of s*** coming for me next me next year, makes for a good series. Let's make it good one, eh? Chances are, it won't be that bad. At least, it won't be a 100% chance of bad. See you tomorrow.
