Week: 43
Songs to Remember: Out of My League - Fitz and the Tantrums, Party Rock - Boys Republic, Candy - ZoPD
If I were to describe what myself this past week, I would describe myself as too lazy to be lazy. I think that description fits a bit too well.
Even though my buddy wasn't going to the tutoring thing at the library, I was still going. Now that was during about 12:00 PM in the morning. Well, noon. My cousin finally got out of school and we were playing Unturned. I was debating whether or not to still go to the tutoring thing, I mean, I could've just told my mom that they canceled it and I wouldn't be going.
But then I was like, I didn't want to bail out on my buddies there just 'cause one of my buddies weren't going to be there. I then looked at how lazy I was, that the entire week and all day and everyday I do nothing but sit in front of my computer. Tutoring would be one day a week, for only 4 hours, on Fridays, I don't have to go each time, and today there's a 30 minute orientation at the beginning of each session, so today would be only 3 hours of actual tutoring time. I didn't want to go at that time because my biddy wasn't there, and I wanted to play a video game with my cousin at that time.
I couldn't have been more lazier. Reminds me of that one Reddit post on Askreddit where this commander moved a whole ship so it would cover the sun at his eyes while he was sitting down. Anyways, I decided "F***, I can't bail" and just went. Thank goodness I did though, heh. It went fairly smoothly. I met my buddies, and well, it went smoothly.
We sat down at a table, the people holding the event were assigning people (us tutors) to a student (the tutees, aka, the kids). The line for tutors was huge, and there weren't that many tutees. So, it was basically 2-3 people per student. I didn't really care what grade the student is who I'd be tutoring. Well, turns out my buddy's little cousin was there and so he was tutoring him. There were far more tutors than tutees, so I helped, as well, as this girl who sat with us. When she was writing her name on the sign-in sheet we all had to sign, I recognized her. She was a girl in my P.E class one time, I think.
After the first session was over (1:15 PM to 3:15 PM), she left, and lots of more tutors came in, along with more tutees. A lot of people came in. It was break time, and as people came in to sign in on the sign-in sheet, I saw someone who looked a lot like Zi. I forgot my glasses today (in the car after I arrived at the library, I was like "F***, I can't see s***"). I squinted, she came closer, and I determined it was Zi. Damn I am blind now. Anyways, I was like "Ayy Zi" and she was like "Oh hey, what's up loser". Jokingly, in a playful, friendly manner by the way.
Jc was there as well, even Vy and her dude friend. I was like "Jeeezus, there is a lot of people here. Especially people who I know/see around school". A lot of people featured in 100% Chance of Bad. It could not have been a better intro to the aftermath for 100% Chance of Bad. And it was even a better prologue to The Days, the upcoming series (that reminds me, I gotta include that in the blog banner soon).
How did it top you may ask? As I was tutoring my buddy's cousin (cool kid, he's in 1st grade but can do fractions and all that), this girl came up to me (I didnt even expect it) and asked "Hey, are you Drew?". I had the biggest unexpected inner smile (and a little putter smile) and I replied "Yeah. You're Ln right?". It was Ln. I had a short half-second pause after I replied "Yeah" because it all caught me off guard so much. I was really happy, because it made the day so much better, it brung much more hype for the upcoming series, and, the fact that she recognized me out of everyone there, without my glasses on, and that I never told her I would be there. Now THAT, was astonishing, and impressive.
That was it though, she had to go back and tutor her tutee at another table. It just made the hype and anticipation even more for The Days. Man that's gonna be hell of a series. Anyways, the rest of tutoring went well. Was it worth it that I got up my lazy ass for once? Yes, yes it was. And it got even better than that after, believe or not. After dinner, my cousin got CS:GO (this video game) and I was still waiting on my Steam gift code to be sent to my email off of that survey site I do. I played a bit of Unturned, got bored, and switched to watching videos.
I got a message on Skype from Em (who I originally named Eo as I found out today, but I'll stick to Em) and she asked if I was free for a video-chat. I, being horrible at checking s***, said "Sure" after about 10 minutes. She still responded though, and we commenced the video-chat. I haven't actually video-chatted with her in a while, and it looks like she's finally all chill now. Like, as in, she's no more of her "emo-phase" as she calks it. Which, is nice. We talked about how's it going, how's it been, stuff around her room, and all sorts of stuff like that, anime, etc. She acts weird, I can freely agree to her weirdness, because I'm weird too, heh. It's best to be close to people who you act weird around and they like it.
It came to a part where we discussed birthdays or whatever, and she mentioned the time when we first messaged each other. I had the idea to look on the archived messages on Facebook, but her original Facebook was deleted. It took me a while, but I did find the post that I made on here, talking 'bout she messaged me for the first time (Thursday, January 23, 2014 if you wanna see it). Not as cringey as I thought it'd be, so I shared it with her. First time I shared even a post from here, with someone. I trust her though, so I could basically tell everything to her if I wanted to, because she trusts me as well.
She works everyday on the nightshift, so it kinda feels weird that I'm talking to someone with a job. Well, I'm not sure where she works or how or what, but in her position and with a job, I just find it odd. Only because, I'm just not used to it, heh. And so, it got pretty late, she went to sleep, and I proceeded to play a League match with my bud. And it guess what? It gets, even, better. I received messages from my old buddy during tutoring, who got back into competitive Pokémon battling, and wanted to discuss some more stuff about it.
I didn't respond back much because I was busy tutoring, and only now did I see the more recent messages. I replied (at around 12:30 AM or so) and well, he was up. So, we're having a discussion on competitive Pokémon battling, at, currently, 1:55 AM. This is what summer's all about baby! This is what that aftermath of 100% Chance of Bad, that prologue to The Days. This makes me not be lazy, heh.
Anyways, I did not expect to write this much today, but I did. And guess what? I'm not even tired. It's pretty amazing actually, considering that I slept at 2:30 AM last night, and had hammers hammering away in the garage in the next room. Also, I had a dream last night. My family was held hostage by these dudes, I tried to call 911, every time I typed out 9, it became a 7, and each time I pressed 1, it became a (-1). Yeah. And so, see you tomorrow.
