Week: 34
Songs to Remember: New World - MadTown

I don't actually understand the lesson vocabulary in Chinese class unless I actually study em'. As in, actually study em'. Usually I only do it when there's a vocabulary quiz coming up.

Last post I mentioned how we haven't done a test or quiz in World History since last semester. Well, I wondered, and I received. The teacher tells us we got a test tomorrow. I'm like "Oh, so this is how we're gonna do this week after spring break". I'm fairly sure that about 40% of the class is gonna fail the test, especially the writing portion. Barely anyone pays attention really.

English, our group, is sorta at a stand-still right now. We chose the topic of how religion affects gender equality in China and the Philippines, but because of how we narrowed the topic down so much, we could barely find anything. Heck, I'm not even sure if we're doing this right. While everyone was sorta just silent for about 10 minutes straight (including me), I decided to just start working on an example poster, just to get our minds to think about what how we're gonna do this. I'm going  for the minimalist style of poster, after searching up "PSA poster" on Google.

Chemistry, was actually enjoyable for once. As I walked through the door, I was hit by a scent that was reminiscent of homemade cookies, straight out the oven. Specific enough? Ok, so I was like "Damn, does it smell good". We're obviously making s'mores today. Yn comes in right, and I'm like "Ay, doesn't smell good in here? We're making s'mores today". She was like "Hmmm?...." And I was like "S'mores. You what s'mores are right?" And then I'm thinking like "Oh right". 'Cause like, after spending only about 2-3  years in the U.S, I don't think s'mores would get introduced to anyone for their first 2-3 years.

So the teacher started off- ah s***. I just remembered that I got to finish the work. Damn. Alright, so the teacher started off by... assigning us new seats. His reason being that people weren't getting work done so he's switching us around. I was like "Hmmm, any chance I'd get to sit next to/near Yn again?" No, actually. I now sit in the back, next to the dude who kept asking me to work together on worksheets. I sat in the back, now I'm sitting towards the back, again. This time, at the bottom left corner of the left-most column. Yn? She sits in the top right corner of the right-most column. We're basically sit exactly opposite each-other.

So now, the teacher passes out the materials, but first explains why we're doing this s'mores this in the first place. Stoichiometry. He got this s'mores activity from that one science teacher convention he went to in 2005 or so. We got to our lab tables, put our marshmallows on our skewers, put the chocolate on our graham crackers, set those on the hot-plate to warm up/melt the chocolate, and began roasting our marshmallows above the artificial fire. Don't remember what that thing was called.

We didn't hold our marshmallows close enough to the heat I guess, 'cause people were finishing up. We hurriedly put our marshmallows closer to the heat, removed our graham crackers with chocolate off the hot-plate, and constructed our s'mores. I think we left them a bit too long on the heat, 'cause the chocolate melted. As in, when I put my marshmallow on the chocolate and squeezed the whole thing together, it dripped. And drooped. Still, it was very delicious the s'more. I think it's more authentic to have it be messy and drip all over the place. Well, over the table. Cleaned up, bell rang, chatted with Yn for a bit when going out the door, and well, I'd say it was fine time in Chemistry class.

Also she likes to text more than she talks. We communicated in class by texting. Outside, I gotta move it to real-life. Alright, anyways, P.E. This unit still sucks. Math, oh man. People said it was easy. Yeah, no. Two part test, first part with no calculators, second part with. First part, awww s***, front and back, skipped quite a few. Back-side was much harder, 30 minutes has passed, awww s***, wrote down so random s***, hoping to get partial credit. Well not just any random s***, I remember the formulas, I just forgot what to do with them. Also, no calculators? I was not even sure if I should've simplified or not.

35 minutes left, everyone's basically turned in their first part. I turn mine in, get part 2. Finally, calculators, awww yeah. I look at the first problem. "Draw a stem and leaf plot" and I'm like "Okay, really? You're gonna give us the hard part first, then the easy? Just so that'd we spend more time on the hard part for less time on the easy?" It makes it so that for the easy part, we'd worry about the time, not the questions. But yeah, the majority of the second part was fairly easy. Just hoping I didn't f*** up my calculations.

Chinese, we just had people go up to the front desk and read the text from the book. Usual stuff, stalls for time, fine with me. But, there is a vocabulary quiz tomorrow, so that means I gotta memorize all the words. I'm like "Oh come on. Do all the teachers go to a meeting and be like 'Hey, I'm gonna have a quiz on Wednesday. When are you gonna put yours?' 'Oh, Tuesday as well!' 'Really? Let me guess. On the week after spring break?' 'How'd you know? Ay lmao'" That's how I think teacher meetings go, hehe.

All jokes aside, I'm hoping for the weekend already. Also, I did see Yue today. She still takes the same route. So, yeah. I was thinking like "Hmmm, did she move schools?" before I saw her today. Just goes to show that I over-think things a lot. Or maybe that I actually care about others? That I do notice em'? Nahhh, heh. That's the mushy stuff I don't like. Only in my head though, only in my head. So, I'm off to read books in the dark. Aka, study. See you tomorrow. Also below, pictures I took of the roasting. Marshmallows, I mean.

My hand's in the lower right corner, by the way.

Doesn't look melted, but once you place a marshmallow on one, hashtag meltdown.
