Week: 35
Songss to Remember: Fall is Just Something Grownups Invented - The Hives
This whole week's been f***ing unusual. I've gotten s*** done, and I've also gotten s*** delayed due to s****y circumstances. I guess you could say this wasn't one of my best weeks. I'm sorry, seasons?
Let's just start it off with a usual post. World History, not a very good one. My usual teacher wasn't here today. Instead we had a sub who was, well, unexpected. He was pretty chill. We just did a worksheet, aaand that was it. Or so I think. I went on to 2nd period and on the board, "Today's lesson: napping" was written. I'm like "Oh thank god, we've moved on from the presentations". I thought the teacher had forgotten us and just gave us, whatever. But no. Today she scheduled us to go see the VSA show, in which everyone was overjoyed. The VSA show is basically this event consisting of cultural performances, having somewhat to do with, well, Vietnam. Or just, the Vietnamese culture in general.
I was like "Aight, aight". Then the teacher said "We still have one more group that still has to present on Monday so they better be perfect!". And I'm just like "S***". Just then, I noticed that I didn't have my book on me. I ask the teacher if I could get my back which I left in my last class. I head on over to World History (in which the classroom was located about 30 feet away) and their class was just leaving for the VSA show as well. I ask the teacher that I left my book and if may go get it. I looked at my seat, under, over, in the general area, around the classroom, but nothing. I'm like "Alright, I'll check later". I went to the VSA show, sat down, wasn't that relaxed 'cause of the thought of my lost math textbook in which I ALMOST lost yesterday, I lost it again today. And in the most stupid way possible, 'cause I know FOR SURE, that there are only two places where it could be.
The VSA show was ehhh. Most of the performances were ehhh. I expected more Viet songs to be played, but uhh no, most of them were either generic dance groups, or people who covered English songs. Pretty ironic how the show's theme this year is called "Back to our roots" when, half of the performances aren't related to Vietnamese culture in anyway. But whatever, anything that's entertaining is fine I guess. After the VSA show, I headed straight (well, I needed to pee, so I took a restroom break instead) to World History. I looked all around again, just to make sure, I asked the teacher if anyone had been sitting near where I was, he said no, and I'm like "Damn". He said that he'd text my teacher to notify her to look out for it when she comes back on Monday. So I checked my 2nd period class, checked over, under, around, everywhere. I asked my English teacher if she had seen a green trig book anywhere today, she was like "Nope". I'm like "F***". So, I went to the textbook room and asked if anyone had returned a trig book today. She was like "Umm, yesterday there was someone, but no, not today". I'm like "Aight, that's fine. Thanks".
3rd period, came in just in time, find out there was a test today. I'm like "Aight" and just start getting out my s***. Fairly short, but tedious. I still had a panic going on from the thought of my lost textbook, so I couldn't really focus. Only until I was like "Worry about that s*** later, Drew" was I able to actually concentrate. Did all of it, was fairly, ehhhh easy I guess. I looked at the top and it was marked "Hard! Hard version!". I thought that every test had that, and it was just something bootleg to fool ya. I went to go turn in my test to the front table and there were separate piles. One pile for the "easy" version, one pile for the "hard" version. Guess the teacher actually did have hard and easy versions. 'Course he gives me the hard one. Probably just something fancy for test versions of like, A and B. Bell rang, aaand it's P.E. go into the locker room and now somebody else had their lock on the place where I usually now have my locker at. I'm like "Come on dude, why do you migrate here all of a sudden". Just 7 more week, 7 more weeks of this and I'll never have to step foot in the locker rooms ever again. I also figured that this would be the last day I'll ever take weights, or step foot into the weight room here at school. Was I sad? No. Was I glad? Hell yeah, heh.
Lunchtime, I head to my World History again because I've narrowed it down, that I don't think I even brought my book with me to 2nd period. So, probably someone took my book in World History. I headed back in, the teacher sub dude was like "No luck, dude" and I'm like "Damn, really". I checked some more, but I just figured that "Ah, that dude who sits near me probably took it and is probably holding onto it for me". The dude's nice to everybody in class, very polite and helpful. So, probably in his nature to, maybe do that. At least I hope HE was the one to take it. I asked a dude (who was friends with the guy) if he knew where he was. Nope, no luck there. I was hoping my book would end up at the textbook room by the end of the day. Spoilers, it wasn't.
Math comes along. 'Course I don't got my book with me. Thankfully, our homework is just a worksheet, so no book required. Also, quiz. This time, it's for only 6 minutes. People barely finished. I barely finished. My hand shook at the end when she was announcing "1 minute left". Made sure to show ALL my work, whilst doing it quick. I was more worried about getting the wrong answer than finishing in time really. Didn't want to go too fast that I over think s*** and write the wrong numbers. After that, we watched a documentary on how math is everywhere. Literally. At least this time it wasn't something like a documentary on fractals, where I had no idea what the f*** was going on. Chinese class comes along, and, it was apparently "game" day. Since we're taking the test on Wednesday of next week, I was wondering what we would be doing for the next couple school days. We would be reviewing, but with games. As in, Kahoot.it. The website where you can host a class game that is cross-platform (phone, tablet, PC). Pretty much the whole period.
After class ended, everyone rejoiced, as if we were inmates and we had finally served our sentence and we were free. But for me, I couldn't really enjoy that feeling with the thought of my lost textbook in the back of my mind. I went to the book room once again and asked if anyone had turned in a trig book. She checked my ID that was on file to see if anyone had turned in my book somewhere else and had it scanned. Nope, no luck there either. I awkwardly got a temporary book as to not raise suspicion for my mom if she were to see me without my book. Also, the book room lady was all like "When you find your book, be sure to return one of them back" and I was like "Yeah, will do". I loved how she said "when" I find my book instead of "if". I was like "Oh thank you, for having faith in me". Not really but, heh, whatever.
Also today was f***ing hot. Even right now it's hot. I don't know why it can't be this warm during school mornings when I have to curl into a fetal position and sit in front of the heater to warm up each morning. And now, here I am. In bed. Been typing for over an hour. A lot of proposals todah- err, this week actually. A lot of sophomore girls been asked by junior/senior dudes to prom. So, I guess the approximate proposal askings areeee, arooouund, 2nd week of April? Guess so. Alright. Oh and one more crazy story about my awesome memory (aww yeah).
During dinner today, my dad was talking about something in our city's newspaper (specifically the bomb threat event) and I saw on the cover was a person who resembled Yn. Only the back of the person showed though, and they were wearing this flannel uhh, shirt that Yn wears sometimes. I was like "Huh, looks a lot like Yn", but I didn't pay much attention to it after that. I went on Facebook about an hour ago and saw that Yn shared a Facebook post from her friend, talking about how she and her buddy were on the front cover of the local newspaper, painting something. I was like "OH MY-". That's it. I have powers. I could tell the identity of anyone just by seeing the back of em'. Heh, but really, that was f***ing cool. Crazy how I could tell that it was Yn, just by seeing a picture of her back on the cover of a newspaper. Am I impressed with myself? Yes.
So yeah. I was kinda like bad luck Brian for pretty much, 50% of the day. The other 50% was pretty much plain Drew. Aight, well due to some s****y circumstances, I gotta worry about a delayed presentation on Monday, and my book which may or may not cost me $70. Also, I may or may not choose swimming as my last P.E unit. That or badminton. Swimming looks kinda fine right now, considering how hot it f***ing is. Also, I never been in a pool for a couple years. Well, several. Also everyone's half-naked. So, see you tomorrow I guess. Gotta sort out of s***. By that, I mean sleep.
I wasn't kidding about the writing.
