Week: 14
Songs to Remember: Trojans - Atlas Genius
Just a small update. I just don't wanna cram a bunch of stuff into one post and have that be the scheduling on how I do my posts. Thats basically th equivalent of doing one post a week and I don't like that.
So to re-cap what's been going on, umm, we had the Socratic seminar (basically a discussion) on Thursday for our imperialism stuff. Pretty boring, I spoke like 7 times and my team member only spoke once. And now I gotta do a template outline for an essay to write next week probably. And that reminds me. I gotta make a notes sheet for a chem test next week probably.
Today we had a vocabulary quiz and good thing I stayed up late last night to memorize Greek and Latin roots, 'cause on the test it did not mention them at all, heh. Good thing I went over all the words though 'cause I got a 38/41. Not bad. Oh and uh, we finished reading Cyrano De Bergerac. We finished it last week (technically the class finished it last week, I had to read to the ending while staying up to 3:00 AM one night to finish that journal I had to write.
And for chemistry, we did an lab today using flames. Pretty cool right? Not exactly. We just examined solutions that were lit and the fires were like different colors and stuff and we had to examine em' using a spectroscope thing (those bootleg ones with the tiny hole in the spectro-glass thing). Pretty confusing considering that it's hard to tell the difference between all of them by examing their spectrum thingy using a bootleg homemade spectroscope. I hear people say stuff like "OK, I can see green, yellow, blue, red, orange" and I'm just like "Well of course you can see those colors, they're always there, none of them seem different using a bootleg spectroscope".
I'm still waiting for the beaker reactions. Anyways, table tennis is bringing back s****y memories from badminton. God, do I suck ass at table tennis. If it weren't for the teacher carrying me through every single game, I wouldn't have made it to the 3rd table. Now that we have different partners now, I'm hoping I could get to at least the 4th table with my partner (who did not show up today. I didn't have a partner so I am with this absent person by default). And there are 8 table by the way. I always hit the ball too hard and so it goes off the end of the table, or I just miss the ba completely when trying to hit it, or not moving fast enough to get in position, or all of the above.
But since I'm now doing bad in P.E, I'm actually doing well in Algebra II/ Trig now. The teacher passed back our quizzes today and I see that I got a 55/57. Ohh baby, it's a triple. This is by the far the best comeback I've made in a class. And I always hope for more homework. Why? Because the more she assigns, the more likely that it's easy. If she assigns something like "Pg.253 #1-4", I'ma be scared because I'll be thinking like " Oh s***, each problem's gonna take like an hour or something". If she assigns something like "Pg.161 #1-54", I'm like "OK, 54 problems, probably will go by quick". Also she gave us lollipops as a reward for having a class average of 85% on the quiz. Apparently Dum Dum pops are the universal best reward. And because they are.
Oh and I forgot to mention that yesterday, during SSR, instead of reading, the teacher played a couple videos on bullying because yesterday was apparently national bullying awareness day or something. On days of quizzes or tests, she has us sit based on when we came in the classroom. First person to come in sits in the first seat, second seat, etc. Really cool way to randomize seats. Anyways, the teacher had us talk to the people around each other about some of the questions asked such as "What is billing? Would you consider yourself a bully, etc". The person sitting to the left of me was At (that person who un-friended me on Facenovel for talking to her) and the person on the right of me was already talking to someone else.
So, hoping she's gotten over that s***, I turn to talk and she actually talks to me. And I was just thinking like "Hey look, someone who's gotten over it, if only there were more people like you". And yeah, just thought about that. And I know that this is cringe-worthy if I think about all this too much. I'll be having a nice time in the future when reading all these posts and having my jimmies rustled. I'm talking to you, future Drew.
And so Chinese class, ehhh. Rc's actually a pretty chill dude. Pretty calm, chill, Rc-ish. He also collects stamps, over 1,000 of em' since he was 7. He showed his hobby in class today and that was actually pretty cool. Anyways, uh, we did a "speed-dating" activity today. Not exactly dating, but the same concept. The teacher has 3 questions on the board, the questions being "What's your name? How many friends do you have? What do you like?" You ask the person next to you those questions, they ask you them as well, then you move up a seat and do the same thing. All the girls stay in their seats, the dudes move up.
I sat next to this girl who's El's friend, then this one cute girl whose name can be pronounced the same as if it were to be abbreviated, and then another girl. Also I forgot my Alg II/Trig book yesterday in Chinese class. I was walking when I noticed my arms felt weird 'cause I'm not carrying the same weight as I usually do. So I remember and go back to get it. It's pretty crazy that I carry my math textbook all the time ('cause I don't wanna have it bulge from my backpack) that I'm used to the feeling of carrying it. Pretty bootleg.
And sooo, my best buddy might transfer to another school next week on Wednesday. His sister and parents are gonna try to complain to the district and stuff to allow him to stay. 'Cause, it's near like the end of the semester and he's going to have to choose classes and catch up on like months worth of studies for the finals at the end of the semester. And next year, he'll be coming back anyways so there's no point in having to transfer to a school for only one semester. Freaking school districts. Hopefully these reasons are enough to convince them to keep him her. I mean, I have a teacher who lives in San Francisco for freak's sake.
Oh, it's 12:55 AM. I'm tired. Warframe, Isaac, and League tomorrow, with work of course see you tomorrow.
